I am always excited to check out an Irish Pub, and when I found myself in in Idaho Falls for a couple of nights and looking for somewhere cool to go... I was excited to see a new Irish Pub had recently opened. The outside was gorgeous and a local told me he had heard good things. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out. I had visions of awesome fries and Shepard pie. We walked in and the place was packed and equally gorgeous on the inside. Immediately the menu gave me the first clue we had made a HUGE mistake. The menu gave us the first idea that the place was opened by someone who is clearly not only not-Irish, but has never even been to the country itself. Not a single Irish item on the menu. If you are going to open an Irish pub, at the very least call the "fries" - "chips". Bratwurst is German. Reubens are american, and the Irish hate stinky cheese. The owner needs to research classic Irish food items. The waitress was the worst. She was so sweet, but not a clue on how to do her job. I am fairly certain she should have not been allowed to work her shift, because I think she had a foot injury. She completely forgot about us ordering beers. It was so bad that we ordered beers, and 15 minutes later she came back and asked if we wanted to order any drinks..... um, we did. It took almost an hour to get our food from when we ordered it, and the food itself was incredibly disappointing. I ordered a sandwich and tomato soup. I think they filled the cup with croutons prior to putting the soup in. It was all swollen croutons. The good? The decor, ambiance - was amazing. The beer selection was great. The bad? They charge for Darts!! Who does that? The service was so bad, that we heard other locals coming in warning their friends that the service was awful. The food is worse than Denny's. The Reuben was so lack luster and thin.. the fries were drenched in oil. I wish they only put a couple croutons on the soup or put them on the side. Not a lot of good choices of places to go to in Idaho Falls, but I would avoid this one all together. Not worth it.

It is nice to have a just a little bit of variety in Idaho Falls and I really wanted to like this new establishment. So here are my thoughts: Likes: The renovation on this place was great. I did like the atmosphere and the place was full and lively. The service was fine for me even with the crowd. Dislikes: The beer selection was nothing spectacular. My black and tan was fine but there was nothing else I was really excited about. Having Boddington's or Irish Cream Ale on the menu is not enough to make me want to drink there regularly. The food is definitely subpar, especially for the prices they are charging. Either they need to significantly reduce their prices or make better food. They could stand to give you a bit more food for the sides also since the price was definitely not justified with the amount given. Furthermore, there is nothing really Irish about menu. I would honestly rather walk down the street to have better food/beer at the amount my bill came out to.

My husband and I decided to give the Celt a try after hearing several conflicting reviews about the newest spot in Idaho Falls. We arrived mid afternoon (4:30 on a Saturday) to have a beer. Once seated, Albert approached us and when my husband asked what was on tap, he appeared somewhat annoyed and replied, "24 beers." I think he assumed we'd know which 24 were available... and then he must have caught on to the eyebrows raising because he quickly changed his demeanor and then he handed us a tabletop menu from the neighboring table. He was quick to engage us and inquire as to what type of beer we were interested in. He offered samples of several beers and made suggestions which were all very good. We ordered the slider sampler off the appetizer menu, it was fantastic. I had heard the fries were horrible here, but ours were cooked through and brown. The pulled pork slider was amazing! My husband really enjoyed the pastrami and corned beef sliders. I mentioned to Albert that this was our first time to visit and that we'd heard more negative reviews about them then positive. He acknowledged the fact that they were aware of the negative reviews and that they were working on improving them. He said they had sent a couple of young ladies in kilts out to Alive after Five to hand out fliers to advertise and they got slammed and had not been prepared for the onslaught of people. (That was back in August.) The inside of the bar is beautiful, the restoration amazing. The service we had was fantastic and the food was great. Prices were fair. We will most certainly go back and try the prime rib as it looked amazing and the gentlemen that were eating it had nothing but a thumbs up for it! The Bumblebee (Ace pear cider and Guiness) was absolutely amazing! Beer was cold served in a chilled glass....yum!

Wow... Wednesday night in Idaho Falls and there is a spot downtown with a crowd. The place is new, and you can tell there are some growing pains but they were well staffed, had great service and a fantastic selection of beers on tap! I will be back

Two stars is probably generous, but the beer was cold and the place does look great. The owner, a long time local Idaho politician, gets kudos for the wonderful revitalization of this old building in downtown IF. But, if she continues to run the place herself, she should consider a few desperately needed classes in restaurant management. Otherwise, I'm afraid that this great looking building will be boarded up in no time. We ventured in on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch, intentionally avoiding the noon time crowd. Didn't matter; there were only a few patrons, but lots of wait staff who were not working! Most of the staff congregated behind the bar with their backs to the patrons. Our waiter was clueless, but it was also his first day and he was clearly out of his element, so the blame should be placed on management. Where's the training? This kid must have been walking by on his way from the comic book store and got pulled in to wait tables. I felt bad for him and was willing to cut him some slack until the OWNER decided to call him to the downstairs area, while we were left waiting 20 minutes to get our check. Oh, I failed to mention the food, it was okay. Pastrami was lean, but the fries were undercooked. Really?! We are in Idaho where any potato dish should be fabulous. We did encounter the one and only waitress who knew what she was doing and she was nice enough to pour us another beer. So,if you are feeling charitable and want to give the new place downtown a shot, ask for Alexandra. She was great and should be promoted to management. It's the only way The Celt stands a chance.

The service was wonderful. The food was amazing. Nice selection of beer. The only thing missing was Celtic music.

Not too bad. Will have to go back to see if it gets 5 star treatment. The food menu selection was ok and the burger I got is still causing heartburn as advertised. Having bacon, pastrami, corned beef, and egg on it will case trouble latter but going down was tasty. The other food looked good and this place being vacant for so long is good for downtown. Especially from what is used to be when it was last open. Not being a drinker I cant comment on their selection but the booze was plentiful and looked like if you wanted to you could have a good time.

Most amazing place. Steak dinner is great and the wings are to die for. Service is the best. I never have to wait for a drink. Amanda, Albert, Olivia, Michelle are all amazing. The rest of the staff is great too. If you find yourself in Idaho Falls stop in for drinks and Dinner.

I decided to come back and give this place another try. The last time I went, it was dinner time and it was packed with bar-goers, so the slow service was understandable. The food and service were excellent. I had the corned beef and cheese grilled sandwich with fried pickles and a locally brewed root beer, all were fantastic.

My husband I came here a couple weeks ago. He doesn't drink, but he loves good fish and chips. In his words, "The fish and chips were REALLY good. They were excellent." I had the beef BBQ ribs. They were AMAZING, and I loved the Ace's Pear Cider on tap. We happened to go when they were celebrating the Kentucky derby so all the servers were wearing adorable sun dresses and big hats. They had a great live band, that had me dancing in my seat a during the meal. I loved this place. I will definitely go back any time I'm in the area.

The family and I stumbled upon this treasure on a rainy August day while on a family vacation. We were very hungry and were looking for something kind of special, since we were on vacation. The staff was very helpful and made this a great trip. Mom (that's me) ordered a cobb salad, the boys ordered a corned beef slider on a whole wheat bun with beer battered onion rings, and the daddy ordered a bacon cheeseburger! My daughter ended up taking my salad from me and I helped the boys with their food. The food exceeded our expectations and the beer selection was beautiful! I'll upload pics soon!

Stopped in for a quick bite and was I surprised. I had their corn beef and cabbage and I have to say it was the best I have ever had, and I have eaten a lot of corn beef and cabbage. They also have an excellent pear cider on tap.

Friendly bar tenders and ok beer selection but would not recommend the food.

Great staff! Polite, know their stuff and not hard on the eyes! LOL Very good food and great beer! Stopped in from out of town for lunch and was met with absolute 'niceness'! Highly recommend the local Idaho brews...they were all great (did I have ALL of them???? Yikes!) Clean, friendly, inviting, good food, great beer! What more could you ask for!

I am moving to Idaho Falls in two weeks so I've had to go back and forth in the past month. My fiancé and I stopped in as he had been before and wanted to show me around. The building is BEAUTIFUL! Someone spent a lot of time making it look the way it does. The dark carved wood is so intriguing. They had TONS of booze options. And the drinks were strong! We did not eat so I can't say anything for food. But I'm sure it will be one of the first places we try once we move. The only thing I found that was not great is the smell. I don't know what it smells like or where it comes from, but the air has a funk to it. But after 10 minutes you don't really even notice it. We will definitely be frequenting this establishment.

I was scared to come in had a few back up restaurants just in case but the reviews were wrong! there was only one server / bartender at 2pm and she was great (Olivia) she had the knowledge of the beer and menu was great I'm not a huge fan of fish and chips these are the best I've had in years not badly priced! beer is good im a "beer connoisseur" so my word is legit lol stop by and enjoy yourself!

Had the salmon pate. Wonderfully smoked salmon just an awesome dish. The fish and chips is made with red snapper and are hand made.

The Braveheart Cobb Salad is yummy, but HUGE. Go with the half size and get a side of Guiness Bread. So good! I've been here multiple times but haven't been overly impressed. I don't drink though, so I can't speak for the bar side. They do have the best local made root beer, and the root beer float won't disappoint.

Didn't expect an Irish bar like his in Idaho Falls. Solid beer list with 4 nitro taps and an Irish menu to match. Old bricks, dark stained woods....it feels right for an Irish place.

Sampling the great list of beers. My favorite was the Freeheller Rye IPA. I enjoyed the atmosphere and music.

If you want a UK pub atmosphere, the Celt is the closest you're gonna get anywhere in the area. The building tends to be filled with doctors and engineers and typically has great food AND beer choices. However, they stopped making Cornish pasties and the shepherd's pie just isn't the same anymore... :( Still, it's a classy joint with friendly staff and right off the main road through downtown. I make a point to drag friends in whenever I get the chance. The joint goes from restaurant to bar at 10 pm, so be sure everyone is 21+ if you're cutting it close!

Great beer list, full bar, friendly staff, beautifully renovated historic downtown building. Often live music on weekends. Good spot for a night out!

I went in this place randomly. When i walked in it smelled like rotten fish with a burning vacuum belt. Blech! I was just after a beer. Great tap selection! A bit overpriced. The bar stools weren't too comfortable IMO. A place where the suits go hang out at the end of the day. I might go back....Maybe.

Found a great place in Idaho Falls, locally owned Irish style grill & pub. Large beer list, plus great food. The burger was loaded with bacon, pastrami and corned beef and my wife's Ruben was huge. Try the fried pickles.

I am not generally a huge fan of Irish Pubs, but it is nice to see a little variety popping up in Idaho Falls. The beer selection is good. The food menu is a little anti-climactic. We wanted to see entrees like Bangars and Mash, Guinness Stew, Corned Beef and Cabbage. The bar fare was a little more on the regular bar food side than Irish. This place has potential and is a good addition to the street.

Wow. I just moved here from So Cal and I was worried about getting good grub. This place is beyond the gastropubs in So Cal. The corned beef and cabbage was PErfect. Really buttery and smooth. The shepards pie was delicious. The $1.50 pint was a lemon shandy and matched the potato skins perfectly. The best of all was the incredible Berry salad. We added chicken and it inspired ahhhhhs. Really I wouldn't miss this place if you're in Idaho Falls. It is truly a delight.

I'm surprised the ratings here are so low. Although it appeared that the place was a little unorganized (I heard two tables get after our server for because their orders taking too long), the service I received was good and so was the food. I had a Reuben sandwich, which was very tasty, as far as Reubens go, and I had a drink called a killer bee, or something, that is Guinness with a pear cider - also very good. I'd definitely go back.

I'm sad to say we have been here three times, and it has been absolutely terrible all three times. Dear God, I must be a slow learner! I thought they might get things together after a few weeks-boy was I wrong! The positive: the building looks great. They did an amazing job on the renovation. The negative: the food sucks. Totally nasty grease bomb that costs way too much. Overly greasy fries that taste like old oil and greasy corned beef on a greasy bun. I felt a little ill after eating it. Boring beer selection. The service is the the worst I have ever had-I've had better service at the local dive bar. The staff is totally disinterested in their patrons. We sat at a dirty table for 20 minutes, with nothing to drink, as did the patrons at neighboring tables. When we finally did get service, our waiter complained about how poorly run the place is and how much they hate it. I will not be returning. Instead, I will patronize the other downtown non-smoking drinking establishments. Stop supporting mediocrity! P.S. if this is an Irish pub, why are the workers wearing Scottish kilts?
